Facing a reality that undermined everything he believed in, Sean needed answers. Answers that would reconcile his mind and clear him of the woman’s death.
The truth taught him that what the eye sees and the mind believes are not one. Maddie taught him that no passage through life is without it’s doors.
Raw Spirit, although imbued with a rather strong romantic element, is in essence a crime mystery. The principal characters, constrained by their connection to a murder investigation, soon become involved in another, more esoteric investigation.

Within a seriously intriguing crime mystery, the author has cleverly imbedded an answer to one of lifes’ great enigmas. This truly original work engagingly delivers cerebral fizz.
Pat Whitaker’s latest novel breathes new life into the crime fiction genre.
One can almost expect to see Chief Inspector Wexford striding the pages, but Pat has his own style, refreshing and often dryly humorous.
His use of detail, combined with a raft of believable characters and puzzling undercurrents, has produced “a jolly good read”.

Well written, it has a rather slow start, but picks up well and is an enthralling read.
Another good detective novel to follow on from the others. I had been waiting for more from the author and was not disappointed.
It kept me intrigued to the end with many twists, turns and red herrings.
A well constructed theory on another taboo subject. (very clever).
I look forward to the next one.
